It worked perfectly, and now all of my CS3 products work as they should.īottom Line: Adobe CS3 CAN run on a new Windows 10 system. This error message led me to Adobe's "Licensing Repair Tool," which I downloaded and installed. You cannot use this product at this time." That had never happened before. Then, when I opened one of the CS3 programs for the first time, instead of freezing or never opening, I got the error message, "Licensing for this product has stopped working. You can also use a JOBOPTIONS file with InDesign.

I think any folder name would have worked, as long as it was NOT the default location. Adobe InDesign supports not only INDD and INDT but also InDesign Book (INDB), QuarkXPress (QXD and QXT), InDesign CS3 Interchange (INX), and other InDesign file formats like INDP, INDL, and IDAP. I specifically chose a different location, a new folder (C:\Adobe).

When I installed the CS3 software from the replacement CS3 installer (which you suggested above), I did NOT install the software in the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)). HOWEVER, after trying more random suggestions from the internet, I finally found one that worked.

Unfortunately, obtaining a new serial number and downloading the replacement CS3 installer from Adobe online had the exact same effect. To turn the above function into a complete script I added this front-end: //DESCRIPTION: Place Snippet Inline/AnchoredĪpp.selection.Thanks for your reply, Ann. The CS3 activation servers have been retired and so the. Why did I not take advantage of the returned object from the place() call to get a reference to the placed object rather than rely on myDoc.pageItems in the store call? The reason is that I have just this morning discovered that if you place a snippet that consists of just a text frame, what's returned by place() is the story, not the text frame. Solved: I have looked thru the existing threads on this subject and so far nothing has helped. So, I wrote this function to do the work: function placeSnipInline( mySnipFile, text ) One odd thing here might leap out at you. Theres nothing more frustrating than trying to open an InDesign file only to have an message flagged up saying the file is corrupted and cant be opened. Even on a G4, creating a library, putting something into it, pulling it back out again and deleting the library is pretty swift, while on a MacIntel it positively flies. I came up with the idea of using a temporary library. There is no way of activating it and there is no longer any way to install a non-activation version.

So, how to work around the inability to place them inline? Whats more, how to do it without using the clipboard which might or might not have important information on it at any point in time. Snippets do not take up space on screen, are impervious to crash/recovery issues, and they do not appear on the Open Recent menu. Untitled assets seem to pop into existence in a recovered library, or worse yet, a previously named asset suddenly loses its name. This is maddening Ive searched MeFi, Google, and InDesigns own help screens to no avail. But then I cant maintain proper 2-page spreads any more. seem to stay put when I move the pages around.

And if I turn off shuffle, my text/graphics/etc. If your needs are limited to creating page layouts, then buying the Single App plan is enough since you won’t need other programs. However, if you want to create a beautiful design from scratch, then I recommend picking the All Apps Plan, since you’ll probably need Adobe Photoshop and. Also, in the past, they've been a source of frustration when crashes occur and they have to be recovered. I know about the 'shuffle' option in the pages pallette. Nowadays, before you buy InDesign CC, you have to determine what you’re going to use it for. Library panels take up space on screen and they clutter up the the Open Recent menu. But the alternative of using library items isn't that great either. So much of my work involves inline/anchored objects that this makes snippets just about useless. To trouble-shoot the issue, try the unbound keyboard shortcuts on their own without AHK. As stated before, its not AutoHotkey that is the problem. I've found InDesign's snippets feature to be a constant source of frustration because you simply can't place them as inline or anchored objects. works fine in all the applications it used to work in.
